Where are the men called to be Watchmen?
Ezekiel 3:17 Sons of Man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.
It seems like we are living in times where everyone that has come before us has pushed all responsibilities to the next people in line. What happen to men standing and being accountable. Remember the phrase ” The buck stops here”, the unfortunate result of the lack of accountability in our society has resulted in the divorce rates above 50%. The poverty in the high 20%, and soaring levels of high school drop outs, and don’t forget teen pregnancies and abortion rates continuing to rise. One major area of concern is the rampant experimentation with harder drugs becoming more common socially. People are looking to escape the reality of there sinful existence. Can we blame them? Has anyone before them taught them a better way? Or is it possible that there just carrying on traditions from the environments they grew up in.
Hebrews 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves; for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
Be careful what you ask for. Leadership is a calling that you will one day be accountable for as to the condition of the lives of those you lead. Leadership is not about the credit, the glory or the fame. Leadership as I understand it can be summed up like this, “Actions that align with your words, give power and authority to the words spoken, yet words that do not align with your previous actions or conditions of your own life cause your words to be powerless. Act before you speak and your steps shall be blessed”. We do not need another arrogant know it all leader, that is full of head knowledge and no application skills. Be a man of few words and plenty of action then God will direct you in all your ways. We are not called to know everything on any given subject. In fact great leaders are the best students in the same moments they are leaders. Pride is the the most common downfall of most leaders. Resulting in never fulfilling your God given potential. Be accountable to humility, do not allow the recognition of others to be your chief aim in leadership. So in all we do, we must do it for the Glory of our father above. Give credit where credit is due.
Humility should be a hallmark of all God’s people. It means the absence of pride, an honest awareness of one’s weaknesses, and the willingness to be clothed in humility each step of the way.
1 Peter 5:5 Likewise, ye younger submit yourselves unto the elder, Yea all of you be subject to one another, and be clothed with humility: for God resiseth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
